Jodie has over 20 years experience training, educating, and choreographing. She is a member of Dance Masters of America certified to teach ballet, jazz, tap, and modern and a member of Cecchetti Council of America. Jodie graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.S. in dance. During her time at EMU, she received department scholarships and had the opportunity to perform in two adjudicated concerts at the American College Dance Festival. Jodie currently teaches ballet, jazz, and modern at local studios training pre-professional dancers and serves as a guest instructor for the University of Michigan's Dance Team. Her students have won top honors at multiple competitions including high score awards, cash prizes, and scholarships. Jodie’s choreography has been recognized by dancers, directors, and adjudicators across the Midwest and was named Choreographer of the Year by Cathy Roe Ultimate Dance in 2012. As the Artistic Director of Pure Existence Dance Company, a contemporary dance project based in Michigan, Jodie is able to explore possibilities in composition, creating new and exciting works that inspire audiences.
