Alicia Trump graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Weber State University (WSU). She has been dancing for 20 years and has extensive training in modern, ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and tap. Alicia is the first student at WSU to receive Departmental Honors in Dance. She was also awarded the Outstanding Graduating Senior in Dance Award by the Department of Performing Arts at WSU in April of 2013. Alicia performed and presented her own choreography with the Wasatch Collective Dancers in San Francisco in May 2013 at the Dance Mission Theatre. She was also given the chance to perform as a guest dancer with Kairos Dance Company of LA in October 2013. Alicia will be performing in Repertory Dance Theatre's 2014 Charette fund-raiser dance concert, and has also performed in their 2013 Charette. The choreography from her senior thesis was selected to perform at the 2013 Rocky Mountain Choreography Festival. In April 2012, she was awarded the Outstanding Choreographer Award by the Department of Performing Arts at WSU. Alicia was also chosen to present her own choreographic work at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research in the spring of 2012. In September 2012, Alicia had the opportunity to work closely with former artistic director of Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, Charlotte Boye-Christensen. Alicia was selected by audition to be a featured dancer in a dance choreographed by Charlotte Boye-Christensen. She has performed in WSU Orchesis Dance Theatre, and has also performed with Weber State’s outreach dance program called Moving Company. She has choreographed dances for Weber State University’s Orchesis Dance Theatre in fall 2011, spring 2012, fall 2012, and spring 2013. She had the opportunity in 2013 to teach at WSU's High School Dance Workshop. She was also hired in 2012 to choreograph a military routine for Ben Lomond High School Drill Team. Alicia was selected by audition to perform with Odyssey Dance Theatre in their show Thriller in October of 2009. She has participated and performed in the American College Dance Festival many times. She has had the chance to work with several other well-known dancers/choreographers including: Nina Watt, Monica Campbell, Mary Cochran, Aszure Barton, Eldon Johnson, Mia Michaels, Dee Caspary, and Debbie Allen. Alicia has received numerous dance scholarships while attending WSU. She has taught jazz and ballet technique at local dance studios. She was a three year member of the Davis High Drill Team and served as co-captain her senior year. Alicia has choreographed award winning dance routines, including her own solo during her senior year of high school. She was also selected to be on the Utah All-State Drill Team in 2006. She’s been a judge for Clearfield High Drill Team try-outs in 2010 and 2011. She has competed in many dance competitions from 1995 to 2006, and has performed in countless dance shows and recitals. Alicia has a great love for dance, and enjoys sharing it through performing, choreographing, and teaching dance.
