Brigette Cormier is a freelance dancer and choreographer in Miami, FL. She received her BFA in Dance from the New World School of the Arts (Miami, FL) on scholarship in 2011 and since then has been choreographing and performing her new danceworks at venues and theaters in Miami and around South Florida. In 2012 Brigette founded Love Steady Arts, a contemporary dance company and multidisciplinary arts house that originated at her former 276 Art Studio in Wynwood and has since then become a traveling art group based out of Little Havana, Miami. Brigette attributes much of her diverse creative perspective to the three mentors that consecutively guided her throughout her artistic youth timeline, Grecia Fenton former artistic director of Ballet Esprit, Frank Galvez ballet master at Galmont Ballet, and Brigid Baker artistic director of Whole Project. Brigette’s danceworks are original and story-based, usually linking together and exploring the mysteries of human connection and emotion, and expressing universal truths through the natural beauty of contemporary dance lines. Brigette’s personal dance history includes extensive training in classical ballet, tap, and modern dance. She is hugely inspired by modern dance legends – the voice of empowerment and change of Martha Graham and the freedom of expressivity of Doris Humphrey. |||Brigette's Company: ||| Brigette's Instagram: |||
