Allison Garcia - December 2017 Judges' Choice
Allison Garcia is a dancer at Ballet Clasico Alina Abreu, coached for many years by Alina Abreu, artistic director and Zenaida Terrero, soloist from National Ballet of Cuba. She has participated in Festivals, Galas and Competitions in United States, Canada, Colombia, Panama, Mexico and Dominican Republic. Her repertoire includes main roles in traditional classical ballets and contemporary pieces of recognized international choreographers.
Ms. Garcia was recently selected as Finalist in the category “Cultural Development” (Art and Culture) for the National Youth Award 2018. This winning video is from her participation at the finals of Word Ballet Art Competition in November 2017 in Niagara Falls, Canada where she won 1st Place in the Contemporary category and 3rd Place in Classical category. "La Busqueda" is one of her favorite solos choreographed by Alina Abreu. It's about a journey without maps but with direction, resulting from a choice full of decisions.
The greatest benefits of participating in ballet competitions are the intense training, the performance opportunities and the chance to meet dancers and directors from all over the world.
