Evelyn studies classical ballet and contemporary at Corona Dance Academy in Corona, CA. She has been dancing for 7 years. She is 11 years old. She would like to thank Mrs. Rosemary, Mrs. Elizabeth, Mrs. Nancie, and Mr. AJ for their love and encouragement and never-ending dedication to helping her learn and grow doing what she loves so much.
This was Evelyn’s very first solo at a local dance competition, Radix Dance Convention, in Anaheim, CA, on December 8, 2017. Regarding the benefits of participating in competitions, Evelyn says, "You learn what it feels like to be judged against others, to understand what I need to work on. It's also fun to wear a costume and perform in front of others.” About her inspiration to dance, Evelyn says, “I love the challenge and it’s a lot of fun to be with others who love to do the same thing as myself. My teachers encourage me to work hard and not give up when I'm frustrated."
In the future Evelyn is saving up in hopes of attending a summer intensive in summer 2018. “Otherwise, to keep dancing, be better than I am now, to learn as much as I can, and participate in YAGP,” are Evelyn’s goals. “After that, I have no idea." Thank you again!
