I study at the Crooked Tree Arts Center School of Ballet in Petoskey, Michigan, where I have been dancing for nine and a half years. I study mostly ballet, but take every opportunity I have to delve further into my love and passion for contemporary dance.
Ever since I started dancing, I've loved choreography, and have enjoyed choreographing both on myself and others. My inspiration for this solo came from wanting to show a fearlessness of self expressionism. Being a senior in high school this year, this is something I want to show to the various schools I'm applying for.
I'm very grateful for the experience I had this past summer participating in Northwest Dance Project's Summer Dance Intensive, as it has opened my eyes to a whole new aspect of contemporary dance. But mostly, I give so much gratitude to my teacher, Heather Raue, who has been with me every step of the way. She has pushed and encouraged me to become the dancer and person I never realized I could be.
I look forward to seeing where my dancing will take me this year!
