Thank you so much to you and the judges for providing me with this scholarship! I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and your generosity in awarding me with the Harlequin Floors Scholarship!
I have been dancing since the age of three, making this my 14th year of training!
I attend Booker T. Washington HSPVA in Dallas, TX and train additionally under my mentor, Geralyn Del Corso Garner of GDCdance Co. I study all styles of dance, but I mainly focus on ballet, modern, and contemporary techniques.
Dancing, for me, is a way to express myself and escape all of the stress that surrounds me outside of the studio. No matter what is going on in my life, dance is always there for me! Dance is also a never-ending cycle; you can’t ever quite reach perfection, motivating me to work to my highest potential and push myself to become stronger than I was before.
This summer, I will be attending multiple Complexions Contemporary Ballet intensives in order to strengthen my ballet technique along with contemporary movement.
Moving into the future, I will be attending the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance as a freshman in the fall. After graduating from USC, I hope to dance professionally with Complexions Contemporary Ballet.
