Madeline Dalton - June 2016 Judges' Choice

I have been dancing since I was 3, so for almost 15 years! I study dance at Cornerstone Dance Studio in Bellevue, WA. I have studied tap, ballet, jazz, and hip-hop in my years of dance training, but have recently focused on tap only. My favorite type of dance has always been tap, but I will be majoring in musical theatre next year, and love all genres of dance that have been incorporated into musical theatre. I'll be taking ballet, tap, and jazz classes in college.

I would like to acknowledge my tap teacher, Jacob Rodvelt-Gamlieli, for teaching me so much about tap from 7th through 12th grade! I believe he is the best tap teacher in the Pacific Northwest, and owe so much to him. This dance video was one of my college audition prescreens. Certain colleges with musical theatre programs ask applicants to send in videos of their audition pieces early, and then they are notified of whether or not they have been selected to audition live for that school. It worked out pretty well for me; I made it to the live auditions! Next year, I will be attending The Hartt School at the University of Hartford to get my BFA in Music Theatre. My goal is to be a successful New York actor and do what I love for the rest of my life.
