I grew up dancing in a small studio in New Hampshire (New England School of Dance—NESD). I began dancing at age three and am currently exploring college dance programs to pursue my dreams of becoming a professional dancer. I study ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, musical theatre, and pointe repertoire. In my ballet class, we study the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, improving technical execution and preparing for annual examinations. I have successfully passed all examinations and am currently preparing for the Advanced II Vocational exam.
Since 2006 I have been a member of the NESD performing Company. As a company member, I have gained exposure to many experiences in dance and have learned important skills such as responsibility and teamwork which will benefit me for the rest of my life. My winning video “Titanium” is one of my competition pieces from last year. I won the title of “Miss Headliner” in a regional Headliners Dance Competition with this solo.
This past summer I attended The Joffrey Ballet School’s Intensive in New York City. Navigating the city independently was exciting and made me realize that I want to continue my dance training and education in a big city.
I wouldn’t be the person or dancer I am today without my dance teachers. They inspire me and push me to be the best artist I can be and for this I am thankful. Thank you Susan Smith, Ali Smith, Holly Croteau and Kelly Haigh!!
I want to thank The World Dances and Harlequin Floors for the dance scholarship! I would like also like to thank my family, friends, and dance teachers for supporting, encouraging, and inspiring me to follow my passion to pursue a professional dance career!
